The AFMT is run by friends of Andy’s who each bring their own expertise to the committee. We are pleased to have Sir Chris Bonington, who led one of Andy’s Himalayan expeditions, as our patron.

- Ed Douglas is a writer and journalist.
- Caroline Fanshawe, Andy’s widow, is a former head teacher who now runs a healthy-eating initiative in schools.
- Jim Fotheringham is a mountaineer and dentist.
- Alex Hughes, Andy’s niece, is studying outdoor sport management.
- Deb Park is a management training consultant
- Rob Thomas is a photographer and management training consultant
- Bill Wright is director of Rural Scotland.
